RBL delivers precast foundations for Swindon housing scheme
Roger Bullivant Limited (RBL) has delivered a full precast foundation package for 87 new plots at King George Park in Swindon — the first phase of a major 2,200-home development by Vistry Cotswolds.
The project marks the first collaboration between the two companies and includes the installation of just under 1,000 driven precast concrete piles and approximately 4,000 linear metres of RBL’s RBeam system, all manufactured offsite and installed on a just-in-time basis.
The system was selected for its speed, efficiency, and suitability to the site’s Ampthill and Kimmeridge Clay conditions, with segmental piles driven using RBL’s in-house low-noise rigs, specially designed for residential applications.
With site levels due to be raised, RBL was able to complete piling in advance of ground uplift, reducing imported fill volumes and accelerating the programme.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the value our precast foundation solution can bring to a site of this scale,” said Gareth Griffiths, RBL’s south central residential manager. “Our ability to move quickly and install ahead of level raises created immediate efficiencies for the client.”
Supriya Ray, regional managing director at Vistry Cotswolds, added: “Delivering large residential developments, like this one at King George Park, requires the significant expertise of supply chain partners like RBL. We’re pleased to be working with them on this new project and look forward to seeing the site progress.”
RBL’s offsite solution also supports Vistry’s sustainability targets. The precast elements are produced using low-carbon concrete, while driven piles eliminate spoil arisings and reduce the need for insitu concrete and vehicle movements.
The project is part of the wider strategic growth plan for Swindon, with RBL positioning the scheme as a strong foundation for future collaboration with Vistry Cotswolds.
