Statom Group has acquired Hampshire-based piling specialist Franki Foundations UK, reinforcing its geotechnical and deep foundation capabilities across the country.

Franki Foundations, formerly part of Belgian contractor BESIX Group, has operated in the UK for more than 20 years and is on course for a turnover of over £40 million this year. The company is known for delivering technically complex foundation packages, supported by in-house design and engineering expertise. Its services include rotary bored piling, continuous flight auger (CFA) piling, driven piling, mini piling, retaining walls, and complete foundation solutions.

Craig Macklin, managing director of Franki Foundations UK, said: “Joining Statom Group marks a very exciting new chapter for us, opening opportunities to deliver even more ambitious projects.”

Statom co-founder Stan Nikudinski added: “Franki is a brand we’ve wanted to bring into Statom for a while. Its reputation and expertise make it a perfect fit for our growth strategy.”

Statom, headquartered in Essex, has grown rapidly into a multi-disciplinary contractor with activities in reinforced concrete frames, civil engineering, aviation works, marine construction, remediation, tower cranes, and groundworks. The group posted turnover of £159.8 million in the year to 30 November 2024 and has outlined plans to become a vertically integrated construction business.

By combining Franki’s piling expertise with its existing concrete and infrastructure operations, Statom says it will be better positioned to deliver large-scale, technically demanding projects across the UK and Europe.
