Bauer unveils new tech at bauma
Bauer presents electric and hybrid foundation systems for concrete works at bauma 2025
Bauer Maschinen Group showcased several new technologies relevant to deep concrete construction at bauma 2025 in Munich earlier this month. The company focused on low-emission, electrically driven equipment and control systems designed for diaphragm walling, soil mixing, and concrete injection applications.
One of the key highlights was the debut of the BCS 185 power pack cutter system, a diaphragm wall cutter with a modular drive unit. It offers a choice between diesel or fully electric power, allowing flexibility in operation and reduced emissions on constrained or environmentally sensitive sites.
The BCS 185 is designed to support diaphragm walling used in deep basements, retaining structures, and other reinforced concrete applications in urban infrastructure projects. According to Bauer, the power unit can also be positioned remotely to minimise site footprint and noise.

Bauer also revealed the world’s first prototype of an electrified Cutter Soil Mixing (eCSM) system. This replaces traditional hydraulic components with electric drive architecture, aiming to reduce fuel consumption and emissions during wall construction. The system is expected to be particularly useful in city centre projects where carbon targets and noise reduction are priorities.
Peter Hingott, member of the executive board of Bauer, said: “We want to place even greater focus on our innovative strength and engineering expertise. We don’t just deliver products – we offer complete solutions for our customers’ challenges.”

Also on display was KLEMM’s updated KR 806-4E rig, designed for micropiles, anchors, and soil nails. This electric rig has enhanced battery capacity and performance, offering an alternative to diesel rigs in confined or emissions-sensitive areas such as basements or underpasses.

From Bauer’s MAT Slurry Handling Systems division, two products were on show:
- The new CMS 50 colloidal mixer, with a 10% increase in mixing volume, supports consistent slurry preparation for grout and soil mixing applications.
- The IPA 250-E, a fully automatic cement injection unit, combines MAT’s mixing systems with Obermann pumps. This unit is designed for void filling, subsurface stabilisation, and concrete structure reinforcement.
Wulf Flos, managing director of Bauer Maschinen, said: “Our products are designed to inspire customers around the globe. Once again, bauma proved that we are shaping the industry with state-of-the-art technology and sustainable solutions.”
Bauer’s stand, known as Bauer City, attracted thousands of visitors from across the foundation and geotechnical sectors. The group also demonstrated the latest updates to its DMS (Drilling Management System) software and simulation tools for operator training and project planning.
Bauer’s systems are widely used in the UK for large-scale infrastructure and commercial projects where deep foundations, soil mixing, and precision concrete placement are critical. The new electric and hybrid equipment is expected to appeal to contractors pursuing Net Zero targets and working on urban or restricted-access sites.
