MCT delivers first UK ready-mix plant for iMIX

MCT Italy has delivered its first ready-mix batching plant in the UK, supplying a fully automated concrete production system to iMIX Concrete in South Ockendon, Essex.

The new facility, now operational in the Purfleet area, is designed to support iMIX’s expanding operations across Greater London and the South East. The plant features a 4-bin aggregate system, a MAO 3.3 twin-shaft mixer, and the company’s proprietary CompuNet control software, enabling full automation from aggregate loading to admixture dosing.

“This plant goes beyond a standard batching setup,” said MCT Italy, “it’s a fully integrated production platform that ensures precision, repeatability, and long-term efficiency.”

Configured to meet iMIX’s layout and operational needs, the plant delivers up to 3,350 litres of compacted concrete per cycle, with a 13-metre bucket elevator and 100 m³ aggregate storage ensuring continuous material flow. All dosing systems — including water, cement, and admixtures — are fully automated and compliant with EN 206 standards.

iMIX says the investment reflects its focus on service, reliability, and innovation. “With this new facility, we’re scaling up to meet demand across a wide range of site types, with the flexibility to deliver high-quality concrete on time, every time,” the company said.

The project was supported by PUK and technical specialist Sonny Sangha, who helped tailor the installation to suit UK market requirements.

The partnership marks a milestone in MCT’s international growth, expanding from precast into the UK’s dynamic ready-mix sector with a project that combines automation, space optimisation, and high-output capability.
