National Pile Croppers (NPC) has announced that its entire range of hydraulic pile croppers is now fitted with a new generation of hardened steel chisels, following a major R&D programme focused on safety, productivity and performance.

The upgraded chisels, designed and manufactured in-house using tougher and longer-lasting materials, are now standard on all cropper models including the MultiBar, CFA and Quad units.

Lee Aston, director at NPC, said: “We’ve literally addressed the cutting edge with the new chisels. It doesn’t matter how good the croppers are if they don’t cut through the concrete effectively. These new chisels deliver faster, cleaner, and safer results – reducing the need for remedial work and making the whole process more efficient.”

According to NPC, the redesigned chisels allow concrete piles to be broken cleanly and removed in full sections, leaving a neater finish and enabling safer recycling or disposal of the cut material. The system has been tested extensively in the field and is now available for hire or purchase across the UK.

The company says it will continue upgrading older cropper models in the coming months and plans to roll out the improved chisels to international markets.

Founded in 2015, NPC supplies a wide range of pile cropping equipment from depots in Burton-on-Trent and Stevenage. Its machines are used across the UK construction sector for foundation and groundworks projects.
