HG launches fully electric 3-ton dumper with 12-hour runtime
Danish manufacturer HG has launched the E3000, the world’s first fully electric 3-ton dumper, offering up to 12 hours of continuous operation on a single charge — twice the range of comparable battery-powered machines.
Designed for sustainable site operations, the HG E3000 combines a 29 kWh lithium battery with an integrated on-board charger, providing a full recharge in around four hours. The machine’s articulated drivetrain uses four individual wheel motors and advanced power-management software to maximise energy efficiency and stability across mixed terrain.
Nikolaj Birkerod, CEO of HG, said: “With the HG E3000, we’re proving that electric dumpers are not only better for people and the environment – they’re also more efficient and cheaper to operate, running more than a full working day on one charge.”
The dumper’s 180° swivel tip and optional high-tip configuration enable flexible unloading into skips or trucks, improving productivity on ready-mix, precast and infrastructure sites. An automatic battery-heating system ensures reliable performance in cold weather.
For the UK concrete construction sector, the E3000 supports the industry’s transition to low-carbon, low-noise equipment, reducing on-site CO₂ emissions and improving air quality and safety — key goals for contractors working under HS2, National Highways, and CEMEX decarbonisation frameworks.
The machine also offers clear sustainability benefits for urban concrete repair, precast production, and confined-space worksites, where diesel restrictions and environmental compliance are tightening.
HG, a family-owned company established in 1971, has over 500 electric dumpers in daily use worldwide. The E3000 expands its existing electric range and will begin deliveries in early 2026.
