Oscrete acquires waterproofing specialist PUDLO
Concrete admixture manufacturer Oscrete has acquired structural waterproofing specialist PUDLO in a move designed to strengthen its product offering and expand its market reach across the UK and Ireland.
The deal brings together two well-established construction brands: Oscrete, known for its high-performance admixtures for precast and ready-mix concrete, and PUDLO, one of the UK’s oldest waterproofing and gas protection providers.
PUDLO will join the Oscrete business following its 2024 acquisition by Malcolm Thornton, managing director of UK Property Repair Group. UKPRG will retain a 25% shareholding, while Oscrete takes full operational control. The move marks another key milestone for Oscrete, following its recent lab investment and expansion.
Scott Wilson, director at Oscrete, said: “This acquisition aligns with Oscrete’s long-term strategy of sustainable growth through innovation and strategic partnerships. PUDLO’s product range complements our current admixture portfolio and opens the door to new sectors and regions. Together, we’re in a stronger position to meet evolving construction demands with greater choice and technical expertise.”
Gary Laird, managing director of PUDLO, added: “We’re building on a strong foundation. This partnership opens up new opportunities for growth, innovation, and enhanced service to our customers.”
Recent PUDLO projects include waterproofing solutions for the University of Manchester, Cancer Research UK, and The Christie, along with international work such as the Yas Marina Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
Malcolm Thornton commented: “Oscrete is well placed to take PUDLO to new heights. We’ll continue working closely with the team to ensure a smooth transition and continued success.”
