PERI rolls out new public stair system in UK
PERI has launched its PERI UP Public Stairs system in the UK, expanding its modular scaffolding range with a robust solution for public access on construction sites, infrastructure projects, and events.
Unveiled at bauma 2025, the new system is designed for high-footfall environments, offering wide treads, system-built handrails and slip-resistant surfaces to ensure user safety and comfort. With a load capacity of 7.5 kN/m² and compliance with SG4 and European standards, the system is intended to support safe, uninterrupted movement through complex or constrained sites.
Matthew Binder, national product manager at PERI UK, said:
“Today’s projects demand flexible solutions that can adapt quickly without compromising safety. With PERI UP Public Stairs, we’re offering our customers a way to deliver safe public access faster, easier and with full confidence in compliance.”
Built on PERI’s established PERI UP scaffolding logic, the new stair system uses just seven new components alongside existing PERI UP Flex parts, keeping assembly straightforward. Key safety features include gravity locks, expansion locks, and integrated height adjustment to reduce build time and labour needs.
The system is already being used to create secondary public access routes around remediation works and infrastructure upgrades, including rail projects, multi-storey refurbishments, and occupied building sites. It also provides event organisers with a modular access route for visitors at exhibitions, stadiums, and festivals.
PERI says the launch responds to growing demand for people-focused, compliant access systems that are quick to deploy and easy to adapt as site conditions evolve.
PERI UP Public Stairs enables safe, high-footfall access across construction and infrastructure sites.
