Precast concrete products specialist Tracy Concrete has announced changes to its plans for Belcoo Quarry, bought from Acheson and Glover in 2018.

The county Fermanagh, Republic of Ireland-based company has been planning a major investment at the site, having previously secured planning approval for a manufacturing facility at the border location, according to a report in The Irish News.

Tracey Concrete has now redrafted those plans, said the report, and formally submitted a new application seeking permission to construct a 2,900m2 concrete products manufacturing unit and 320m2 rebar store in a move expected to create around 20 jobs.

The news comes just weeks after the company acquired Stanton Precast Drainage in Ilkeston, Derby, UK from SATEBA, a French and European leader in sustainable rail infrastructure.

Established in the early 1960s, Tacey Concrete employs 189 people and is one of the largest precast concrete manufacturers in the UK and Ireland.

The new facility at Belcoo, said the report, will be used to manufacture precast concrete products using steel or timber formwork.
