Roger Bullivant launches three new piling rigs
Roger Bullivant Limited (RBL) has expanded its piling fleet with the launch of three new foundation rigs, including two in-house designed driven piling machines and a purpose-built auger rig supplied by Enteco.
The newly unveiled 5508 and 5509 driven piling rigs are the first at RBL to be built on Casagrande’s B175XP-2 base unit—specifically designed for piling, rather than a modified excavator base. The rigs feature integrated hydraulic systems, real-time performance monitoring via Casagrande’s Fleet Master, and improved safety controls. Powered by Stage V emissions-compliant engines and operated entirely by radio remote control, the machines offer both environmental and operational advantages.
Both rigs incorporate RBL’s 5.5-tonne quiet hammer—developed in-house to reduce noise during pile driving. They can install precast concrete piles ranging from 200 mm to 350 mm in diameter, as well as steel tubular piles.
“These machines give us the flexibility to adapt, the control to innovate, and the strength to grow,” said Andy Tebbs, manufacturing director at RBL. “It’s a testament to the engineering talent we have in-house.”
Originally developed to replace older rigs, the 5508 and 5509 will now supplement RBL’s fleet in response to growing demand.

Alongside these, RBL is introducing the 7010 auger rig, supplied to RBL’s specification by Enteco. An evolution of earlier models, the 7010 uses a powerful 585 kW Volvo Stage V engine and supports CFA, CHD and CHAD piling techniques. Designed for versatility and ease of mobilisation, the rig offers low bearing pressures for ground stability and features a self-erecting mast.
All three machines are expected to have a service life of at least 12 years, extending RBL’s ability to offer quieter, cleaner, and more productive piling operations.
