Saint-Gobain acquisition expands digital concrete platform
Saint-Gobain has acquired Danish firm Maturix, a provider of wireless sensors for real-time monitoring of concrete curing and hardening. The acquisition will integrate Maturix’s jobsite monitoring capabilities with Verifi, Saint-Gobain’s in-transit concrete management system, to offer a combined digital solution from batching through to on-site placement.
Maturix technology enables contractors to track temperature and strength development remotely during the curing process. According to Saint-Gobain, this can help reduce concrete cycle times by up to 50%, improve traceability, and support performance monitoring in line with project specifications.
The two companies have worked together since 2019. Their integration will add end-of-placement insights to Verifi, which is already used across three continents to monitor slump, temperature and delivery conditions in transit.
Sid Singh, CEO of Verifi, said: “By combining the data and digital expertise of Maturix and Verifi with Saint-Gobain's leadership in concrete admixtures, we will provide customers with improved operational control and cost visibility.”
Saint-Gobain says the acquisition supports its goal of offering integrated digital tools across the concrete value chain. The move comes as part of its wider strategy to optimise construction processes and reduce material overdesign.
