Wotmix supply Cemfloor liquid screed for a private new build in Lancashire

Manchester-based ready-mixed concrete specialist Wotmix have supplied 38m³ of Cemfloor Liquid Screed for a new build project in Barrowford, Nelson, Lancashire.

Absolute Underfloor Heating & Screed handled the pumping and laying of the concrete, which was delivered in two stages by Wotmix's drum mixer trucks, including two 4m3 DAF mixer trucks and an 8m3 DAF truck mixer, for Whole Construction Services, who are constructing the new build property for a private client.

The design specified an underfloor heating system throughout the ground and first floors, necessitating using Cemfloor Liquid Screed for optimal performance. The screed, which allows foot traffic within 24-48 hours and spanned two floors, was installed by Absolute Underfloor Heating & Screed, over several weeks.

“Cemfloor is a high-performance cement-based liquid screed used for flooring applications,” explains Scott Houghton, managing director, Wotmix, “and is designed to provide a smooth, level surface for various floor coverings and offers benefits such as quick drying times, enhanced thermal conductivity, and reduced shrinkage.

“All of which makes it ideal for underfloor heating systems, such as the one installed Absolute Underfloor Heating & Screed in Barrowford, and provides a durable, even base for subsequent flooring installations.”
