Heidelberg opens new Abergele concrete plant
Heidelberg Materials UK has opened a new ready-mixed concrete plant in Abergele, north Wales, strengthening its regional footprint and supporting major construction activity across the area.
The new facility is designed to meet the demands of both large-scale infrastructure schemes and residential projects, supplying everything from high-volume pours to specialist or bespoke mixes. Low-carbon concrete is also available, supporting the decarbonisation targets of clients in the region.
Located alongside Heidelberg’s Abergele Quarry, the plant benefits from a direct aggregate supply. This removes the need for deliveries by road and cuts associated carbon emissions, reducing both costs and environmental impact.
The site has been fitted with two concrete mixers to ensure reliable supply and faster turnaround for customers within a 20-mile radius.
Barry O’Hanlon, area general manager (concrete) at Heidelberg Materials UK, said: “Our new Abergele concrete plant is well placed to support a wide range of customers in the region. We offer a fast, efficient and reliable supply of ready-mixed concrete and can supply any requirements, whether for a collect customer or for a large infrastructure project.”
The investment adds to Heidelberg’s growing network of plants across Wales and underlines the company’s commitment to regional growth and sustainable supply.
