Biker Group has secured planning consent for the installation and operation of a fixed concrete batching plant at Killerby Quarry, North Yorkshire. Approved by North Yorkshire Council in August 2025, the application includes the provision of a wash lagoon to support concrete production.

The new concrete batching facility at Killerby Quarry, owned by Tarmac, will be located within the developed area of the existing quarry, adjacent to the bagging plant. Quarry-sourced aggregates will be utilised, together with cement and water, to produce ready-mixed concrete for regional construction markets. Additionally, a wash lagoon will be constructed to recycle water and manage sediment in a closed system, with no external water discharge required.

In line with the quarry’s approved restoration plan, the batching plant is permitted to operate until 31 December 2035. During this period, vehicle movements are expected to include 3-5 daily cement deliveries and approximately 20-25 outbound HGV journeys per day.
