Biker Group submits plans for new concrete batching plant at Killbery Quarry

Biker Group

In June 2025, Biker Group, a family-owned business operating in North Yorkshire and Teesside, submitted a planning application for the installation of a concrete batching plant in Killbery Quarry.

The site, owned by Tarmac, and located approximately 1.5 km south-east of Catterick, Yorkshire & the Humber, has been active for over two years after receiving planning consent in 2018. Whilst Tarmac manages the quarry, the proposed batching plant will be installed and operated by Biker Group as part of its existing concrete supply operations. The facility is planned to utilise aggregates produced and stored at the quarry with other material to produce ready-mixed and volumetric concrete.

The batching plant is to be located within the developed area of the quarry, adjacent to the existing aggregate bagging plant. If operations at the quarry cease in the future and aggregate supply is no longer available, the batching plant will be removed in accordance with the site’s approved restoration plan, which comprises the return to agricultural use.

On a daily basis BDS monitor and record all planning applications associated with RMX plants across Great Britain, this information is then made available to subscribers via an online portal.
