Züblin acquires Bauer’s Austrian foundation business

Züblin Spezialtiefbau has acquired Bauer Spezialtiefbau’s Austrian operations, strengthening its capabilities in specialist foundation engineering.

The deal sees Bauer exit the Austrian market for strategic reasons, while Züblin will integrate the business under its own brand from 2026.

“For strategic reasons, we decided not to pursue specialist foundation engineering in Austria any further and therefore looked for a good solution for our company and the people. We have found this with Züblin and wish the team every success for the future,” said Peter Hingott, executive board member at Bauer.

Reinhard Kerschner, member of the Züblin management board, described the acquisition as “an important step in our growth strategy,” adding: “By merging with Bauer Spezialtiefbau Austria, we can deepen our expertise in the field of pile construction, and we are very pleased to welcome the new team to our ranks.”

The transaction was completed for an undisclosed sum.
