Leica Geosystems has launched the Leica Xsight360, an AI-powered safety awareness system designed to reduce risks on construction sites by detecting hazards and generating intelligent safety reports. The solution, developed in collaboration with Presien, uses multiple cameras and machine learning to provide real-time alerts and 360-degree coverage around construction vehicles.

The system’s onboard processor, Leica CRS360, runs Presien’s advanced AI model—trained on more than 700,000 hours of real-world site footage—to minimise blind spots and false alarms. When a person, vehicle, or hazard such as a construction cone is detected, the system immediately alerts the operator through visual and audio cues.

Up to six cameras can be installed on each vehicle, offering full coverage and low-latency alerts without interrupting the operator. In parallel, footage is sent to the cloud for analysis. The Xsight360 platform then generates safety dashboards, indexes, and reports for health and safety managers. These can be used to review incidents, benchmark against safety standards, and inform future site protocols.

Neil Williams, president of Leica Geosystems’ Machine Control division, said: “With our partner, we’ve developed an intelligent, adaptive system that enhances safety in the present with instant alerts and shapes future safety strategies through comprehensive reports.”

Leica Xsight360 is part of Hexagon’s broader safety technology offering and will be showcased at Hexagon LIVE Global 2025 in Las Vegas. The system is initially launching in the UK, with plans to roll out to other regions.
