BDS Bespoke Consultancy for the Concrete Sector

BDS Marketing

BDS has three decades of experience in delivering bespoke research projects to numerous companies operating in the concrete, mortar, concrete products and cementitious markets. For the company commissioning the research, these  projects typically involve the expansion of existing operations, either by the development of an existing manufacturing site to improve productivity or output capacity, or through the construction of a new greenfield manufacturing facility. In other projects, BDS has helped manufacturers with the introduction of new products into these market sectors.

In all cases, the BDS focus is to help companies understand their existing and proposed markets better in terms of factors such as current and projected market sizes, pricing, distribution, routes to market and other market characteristics. A key area of every project is the delivery of information relating to competitor activity which can include site locations, outputs, capacity, product ranges, planning activity, investment proposals, financial summary, acquisition history and other relevant knowledge.

Recently, BDS developed a relationship with an existing cement manufacturer to understand its current operational model and future plans and deliver a market report. The report was used by the client to support the development of a new cement import facility in a key regional market area in Great Britain. The report estimated the size of the total potential market which the new terminal could supply through the identification of ~650 ready mixed concrete producing companies and ~210  concrete products producers within a defined market range from the proposed import terminal. The report provided full mapping of all of the operations and comprehensive details of each of them, including existing cement sourcing arrangements. A wider understanding of the cement market in Great Britain, covering domestic manufacturers, importers, plant activity, trends and forecasts in cement volumes, and planning activity relating to cement import and production was also provided.

BDS offers a bespoke consultancy service to support clients in meeting their objectives within existing, new and expanding sectors of the construction and waste industries. If you would like to discuss a potential study with BDS please visit the BDS website or contact BDS for further information.
