Wirtgen launches modular SP 33 slipform paver

Wirtgen's SP 33 slipform paver, unveiled at World of Concrete 2025 (21-23 Jan), Las Vegas, US, before getting its European debut at this year's bauma (7-13 Apr) in Munich, Germany, working under a concrete bridge on a motorway. Wirtgen's SP 33 slipform paver was unveiled at World of Concrete 2025 (21-23 Jan), Las Vegas, US, before getting its European debut at this year's bauma (7-13 Apr) in Munich, Germany.

Wirtgen has introduced its latest slipform paver, the SP 33, offering both offset and Crosspave modes in a single machine. The compact paver was unveiled at this year's World of Concrete before getting its European debut at this year's bauma (7-13 Apr, Munich, Germany), and is designed to deliver high precision and efficiency across a range of monolithic concrete applications.

Capable of paving kerbs, gutters, barriers up to 1.3 m tall, and concrete slabs up to 3 m wide, the SP 33 features a modular design and fully adjustable track units. It can easily switch between paving modes thanks to a fast-change system, with the Crosspave configuration allowing concrete slabs to be placed transversely to the machine’s direction of travel.

A new graphic control panel guides operators through each phase of use—from transport to set-up and paving—minimising errors and improving workflow. Wirtgen has also integrated its AutoPilot 2.0 stringless paving system, removing the need for physical stringlines and enabling tighter radii and complex geometries through GNSS guidance.

The SP 33 also includes load-dependent engine management and ECO-mode operation, lowering fuel consumption, CO₂ output and noise levels.

Wirtgen says the SP 33 offers a cost-efficient and versatile solution for contractors handling variable concrete profiles and slab work, while improving safety and reducing set-up time.
