The National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) has announced the shortlist for its 2025 Scaffolding Excellence Awards, highlighting standout achievements across the UK scaffolding sector.

Revealed ahead of ScaffEx25, Europe’s largest dedicated scaffolding and access event, the shortlist spans nine categories—from apprentice development and innovative design to high-profile infrastructure projects.

This year’s judging panel, chaired by James MacFadden, CS&A responsible engineer at Sellafield, praised the overall quality of submissions. “There was a noticeable step up in the quality of entries this year,” said MacFadden. “It’s encouraging to see such a range of exceptional work across the industry.”

The shortlisted entries include small and large-scale projects on landmark structures including Blenheim Palace, Hinckley Point C, Liverpool Street Station, and the Tyne Bridge. Companies such as Allen & Foxworthy, ISS, GKR Scaffolding, Shield Services Group and Proplant Scaffolding are among those recognised.

Several categories also highlight technological innovation in scaffolding design and health & safety systems, with Layher’s SIM2Field, Staht’s digital pull tester, and SMART Scaffolder’s new platform among the contenders for Product and Service of the Year.

Winners will be revealed at a gala celebration during ScaffEx25, which takes place on 11–12 September 2025 at Coventry Building Society Arena. The event will also feature a demo zone, training pavilion and two-day conference exploring the future of scaffolding.
