Power-Sprays transitions to employee ownership

Power-Sprays Ltd, the UK-based global leader in Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC) equipment, has become an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT) following the decision by managing director Ian White to step back after 40 years leading the business.

As of 31 October 2025, the Bristol-based manufacturer is collectively owned by its employees, with a board of trustees established to guide the company’s strategic direction and uphold its values of innovation, quality and technical excellence.

Founded in 1962 by Graham Williams in West London, Power-Sprays began as a small engineering firm manufacturing pumping and spraying equipment for the building industry. Its pivotal moment came in the 1970s, when it began developing machinery for the emerging GRC sector — a material that has since revolutionised lightweight, durable concrete design.

The company’s equipment is now used in over 100 countries, producing GRC components for architectural façades, cladding, and precast structures.

Ian White joined Power-Sprays in 1985, succeeding Graham Williams as managing director and driving the company’s international expansion. Under his leadership, Power-Sprays consolidated its reputation as the world’s foremost supplier of GRC manufacturing systems, while establishing sister companies Fibre Technologies International and Polyfib Consulting, and launching specialist divisions PS Engineering and PSN Telecom Covers.

“This transition ensures Power-Sprays’ legacy continues through the people who make it what it is,” Ian said. “Becoming employee-owned recognises the commitment, expertise and innovation of our team, who have helped shape the company’s success over six decades.”

While Ian steps back from day-to-day operations, he will remain on the board of trustees to support the next phase of development.

Today, Power-Sprays operates from its factory in Avonmouth, Bristol, supplying the global GRC market with mixing, spraying, and moulding systems, alongside training and support for GRCA-accredited manufacturers.

The company’s move to employee ownership ensures continuity, stability, and a shared future for a business that has been central to the advancement of GRC technology and production since its inception.
