Micromix launches online payment for small loads

Micromix, Tarmac’s small-load ready-mix brand, has introduced a new online payment system to simplify ordering and improve convenience for customers across Yorkshire, Scotland and the North East.

Designed for smaller orders between 0.5 m³ and 4 m³, the service allows both trade and domestic users to select mixes by application type or technical specification. The platform caters to a broad user base, including those who may be unsure which concrete grade they require for a given task.

The digital payment system allows customers to place and pay for orders directly via Micromix Concrete, with typical delivery turnaround within one working day. Until now, payments were processed via phone orders.

Shaun Hyland, Micromix manager – North, said: “Introducing an online payment system is a natural progression in our service offering, making it easier and faster for customers to place orders outside of usual business hours. Every project is unique, and timely delivery of the right mix is essential.”

Micromix vehicles are specifically designed for smaller loads, offering improved access to constrained sites and reducing the risk of damage compared to larger mixer trucks. The fleet is operated by FORS-accredited drivers and supported by experienced sales and technical teams.

The service supports standard ready-mix orders and custom design mixes conforming to BS 8500, with Micromix holding BSI Kitemark certification.

Hyland added: “Our goal is to deliver not just concrete, but confidence. Whether it's a homeowner pouring a driveway or a contractor finishing a small-scale civils job, our platform helps keep projects moving with minimal hassle.”
